Rodney McLauchlan

 CHAIRMAN, FOUNDER

Rodney is a founder and a board member of Legacy Trust Family Wealth Offices where he enjoys his role working with clients on business transactions, non-traditional investment opportunities such as private equity and international investments. Rodney began his career in investment banking at Bankers Trust Company where he was an Executive Vice-President and a member of the bank’s management committee. He loves sharing his wisdom from his investment banker days with Legacy clients. Subsequent to Deutsche Bank’s acquisition of Bankers Trust, Rodney was the Chief Executive Officer for Deutsche Bank in Latin America. He is currently a Senior Advisor to Shearman and Sterling, LLPs, and also an advisory board member of Paper Excellence, a global pulp and paper company, and on the investment committee of Global Vision Capital. Rodney has his MBA from The Wharton School and a BA in Economics from The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He also holds an APC in Federal Taxation from New York University.

What is your proudest accomplishment? “By far, my children!  Kristin and I could not be prouder of the people they are.”

Where did you meet your spouse? “We had a blind date – although Kristin and I have varying stories.”

Ever met anyone famous?  “I met Queen Elizabeth in London.”
